On 31 August 2006, Paolo Montarsolo, often a member of the international Jury Committee, eager supporter of the competition, an excellent colleague and a dearest friend, passed away.

His widow, Liliana Montartsolo, in memoriam, grants to the best young bass of 2009 MARIA CALLAS GRAND PRIX €4.000 and institutes the “Paolo Montarsolo” award.

REQUIREMENTS

Male singers who wish to compete also for the Paolo Montarsolo Special Prize, should choose, in addition to the required program of the Grand Prix, three arias out of the list given below (one aria for each Cycle).
